HEBREWS 13:16 “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
I am reading The Four Agreements
by Don Miguell Ruiz. The author talks about the agreements all of us make in our lives. Then he lists 4 we should make. They are not easy, but I can see that they are important changes that I personally need to make in my life.
Agreement 1 - BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Agreement 2 - DON’T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Agreement 3 - DON’T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Agreement 4 - ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Under any circumstances, always do your best, no more and no less. But keep in mind that your best is not going to be the same from one moment to the next. When you wake up refreshed and energized in the morning, your best will be better than when you are tired at night. Your best will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick, or sober as opposed to drunk.
Regardless of the quality of your efforts, keep doing your best. If you try to do more than your best, you spend more energy than is needed, and in the end your best will not be enough. When you overdo, you go against yourself, and it takes longer to accomplish your goal. But if you do less than your best, you subject yourself to frustrations, self-judgment, guilt and regrets.
Expressing what you are is taking action. You can have many great ideas in your head, but what makes the difference is the action. Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, and no reward.
When you always do your best, you take action. Doing your best is taking the action because you love it not because you’re expecting a reward. God is life in action. The best way to say, “I love you, God,” is to live your life doing your best.
