Staying Connected While Apart
When We Must Bear Persistent Pain All Creation Sings* Hymn #1014
When we must bear persistent pain
And suffer with no cure in sight
Come Holy Presence breath your peace
With gifts of warmth and healing light
Support us as we learn new ways
To care for bodies newly frail.
Help us endure and live and love
Hear our complaint when patience fails.
We thank you for the better days
When we may smile to greet the sun.
To do your work with clearing mind
And bless your name when day is done.
In ease or pain in life and death
To you our fragile lives belong,
And so we trust you in all things.
You are our hope, our health, our song.
*All Creation Sings is a new, comprehensive song and prayer collection for every worshiping community. Supplementing Evangelical Lutheran Worship, this resource contains expansive hymns and liturgies that invite us to join our voices with God's whole creation.
Relationship with God is personal, but not private. It is intended to be shared. Our spiritual health is real when we delight in relationship with God and share this joy with others. Please send your own devotion, prayer or apolitical thoughts to joycemderrick@gmail.com to be shared with your WELCA sisters, one a day in the order in which they are received.
